Favourites : The TEAM INDIA

Team India are favourites to win 2011 WC not because they are the best team playing in the World Cup. It's because they represent a country of more than 1 billion people, and each one of them is team's fan right now. Which in turn is because team recently have defeated Australia in Quarter Finals(QF).
In case the result of QF would have gone otherwise, the team would have been the most critisized team in world and everybody would have started believing that - this is the worst cricket team among all prominent cricket playing nations. Example of failure of 2007 WC is very much there to prove this. That failure even gave rise to ICL(Indian cricket Leauge), which latter turned out to be nothing more than career spoiler of few very good cricket players. Is this fair?? Doesn't it creates a unnecessary pressure on team?? Its a question which we should answer
